According to our tradition, it is believed that our forefathers will get eternal peace, if we perform pithru tharpanam on the Amavasi day of Karkitaka Masam. KNSS Board has been making elaborate arrangements for this ritual at the Kalyani Tank, near Halasuru Lake premises, for many years now. Well known Thantris from Kerala were brought in for initiating Pithru Tharpanam Many families utilises this unique opportunity every year.
Increasing number of participants each year is a testimony of its popularity. The year 2024 attracted over 2400 persons for performing the pithru tharpanam near Halasuru lake. KNSS makes all arrangements for the ‘tharpanam’, so that our member could do the ritual at ease.
Apart from this, Bommanahalli Karayogam conducts it in Bangalore near their locality. Mysore, Shimoga, Mangalore, KGF, Hospet and Udupi Karayogam also conduct Karkitaka Vavubali for the benefit of their member families and others.
